During a welder's work, situations often arise where an ordinary work glove needs to be reinforced with an additional protective layer. One such option can be a heat-reflective overlay (shield) for the glove.

• The base of the overlay is made from durable cow split leather, as is the base of the fasteners.
• The inner part of the fasteners is made of elastic strap.
• The rough texture of the split leather prevents the overlay from slipping on the back of the gloves.
• The outer protective part is made from reinforced fiberglass (PFR).
• All seams of the overlay are stitched with fire-resistant thread.

Note: The overlay is additional protection, not the primary one. When used with gloves, overlays enhance hand protection from excessive thermal radiation but do not help with direct contact with molten metal or radiation sources.
