Buy PATON Electrodes for Carbon and Low-Alloy Steels in Ukraine

Electrodes for carbon and low-alloy steels are coated consumables for manual arc welding of structures that require increased joint strength, ductility, and impact toughness. They are used in the manufacture and repair of loaded metal components operating under vibration, impact, and temperature fluctuations.

The PATON catalog includes UONI 13/55 and UONI 7018 ELITE electrodes. Both series are designed for demanding welding applications but differ in certain characteristics and recommended uses.

You can buy electrodes for carbon and low-alloy steels directly on the PATON website. Consumables for other applications are available in the welding electrodes category.

Applications of UONI Electrodes

Electrodes for welding metal structures are used in the manufacture and repair of:

  • load-bearing frames and supports;
  • bridge and ship structures;
  • main pipelines;
  • tanks and vessels;
  • reinforcement cages;
  • loaded parts and assemblies;
  • structures operated at low temperatures.

Electrodes for critical structures are selected when the welded joint may be exposed to dynamic and impact loads. With proper metal preparation and the recommended welding procedure, they help produce a dense weld resistant to cracking.

How to Choose Electrodes for Critical Structures

When selecting electrodes, consider:

  • steel grade and mechanical properties;
  • intended use of the structure;
  • expected loads;
  • operating temperature;
  • requirements for weld ductility and impact toughness;
  • workpiece thickness;
  • electrode diameter;
  • welding current type and polarity;
  • permitted welding positions.

The electrode diameter, current range, and polarity should be checked on the selected product page, as operating parameters depend on the electrode series and size.

For manual arc welding, use MMA welding inverters. The machine should support the required operating mode and provide stable arc performance. To complete the workstation, electrode holders and ground clamps are also selected according to the operating current and connection type.

Comparison of PATON UONI Electrodes

Series Applications Key Features
UONI 13/55 Critical metal structures and joints in main pipelines Ductile weld with high impact toughness, suitable for low-temperature applications
UONI 7018 ELITE Loaded critical structures, bridges, ships, and pressure vessels Increased ductility, high impact toughness, and improved welding productivity

The table provides a preliminary comparison of the two series. The final choice should be based on the specifications of the selected product and the requirements for the welded joint.

Metal Preparation and Welding Features of UONI Electrodes

Before welding, the edges should be thoroughly cleaned of oil, rust, paint, moisture, and other contaminants. UONI electrodes are sensitive to surface condition: insufficient metal preparation and excessive arc length may lead to porosity and other weld defects.

Consumables should be stored in a dry place and protected from moisture. The need for rebaking and the appropriate procedure should be determined according to the recommendations for the specific series, without exceeding the temperature and treatment time specified by the manufacturer.

During welding, it is important to maintain a stable short arc and follow the recommended current parameters. Polarity and permitted welding positions should be checked according to the markings and specifications of the selected electrodes.

To protect the eyes, face, and hands, use a welding helmet, welding gauntlets, protective clothing, and other personal protective equipment.

PATON Carbon and Low-Alloy Steel Electrode Prices and Purchasing

The price of electrodes for carbon and low-alloy steels depends on the series, diameter, and package weight. Current prices and available specifications are provided on the product pages.

Before ordering, select the appropriate series and diameter based on the material of the structure, its operating conditions, and the requirements for the welded joint. In the official PATON online store, you can buy UONI electrodes with professional selection advice and delivery across Ukraine.
